Llanelli Citadel is, as the name suggests, in the town of Llanelli which is some ten miles west of Swansea in South Wales and formerly famous for it's several Tin Plate works, hence the nick-name of 'Sospan' and the song 'Sospan Fach'.
Llanelli has now only one tin plate works on the outskirts of the town but does have the sea on one side and vast areas of scenic beauty on the other side, including Parc Howard and Swiss valley to name but two. In addition, we are just six miles east of Pembrey Country Park where you would find there to be many acres of beautiful park and woodland plus a seven mile sandy beach with safe bathing. In addition there is a ski slope, two miniature trains, BBQ and camping areas, horse riding and cycle hire facilities etc., and not forgetting the Pembrey Motor Racing Circuit and Kidwelly Castle.
Across the bay from Llanelli's own beach is the Gower Peninsula with its own numerous unspoiled coves and beaches (gosh, we never knew that we lived amid such treasures).
With all these attractions you will surely want to unwind and spend time with us at Llanelli Citadel, and to reach us...
Leave the M4 at Junction 48 and simply follow the sign posts to Llanelli. Approximately four miles and immediately before entering the town of Llanelli (see the map at the bottom of this page) you will see the Salvation Army Flag on your right.
What do you say? You've just seen the flag on your right? Oh dear, oh dear, you've just passed us. You'll have to go down to the next roundabout and come back, take the next two left turns and we're straight ahead in front of you (well we could hardly tell you to turn right before you see the flag, could we?)
