About us

There are people who merely think of The Salvation Army as being those nice people who supplied cups of tea to soldiers in time of war or catastrophy, or who sell copies of 'The War Cry' in the local market place each week. Alternatively we may be thought of as a being a charitable organisation. But we are much more than this...

Yes we still supply cups of tea where tea is needed, we do sell copies of 'The War Cry', we are also a charitable organisation. But first and foremost we are a Christian Church with Heart to God and Hand to Man.

The Salvation Army at Llanelli is but a very small cog in a very large machine extending throughout the world, but in respect the Llanelli Citadel Corps may we invite you to view the section of this website entitled 'This is what we do'.

May we also stress most strongly that all our meetings and activities are open to non-Salvationists. In point of fact there are often more non-Salvationists present than Salvationists at any one meeting or activity.

On May 20th 2007, The Salvation Army celebrated being in Llanelli for 125 years.
